6 Places To Get Free Images Online

It’s difficult to find good quality images for your project. Here are six places to get free images to use online. Stock photography can be costly to pay for it from the big sites, so finding resources to get photos from can be tricky. When you are out there Google-ing images to find to use, here’s a word of caution. It’s important to pay attention to license use no matter the site you get your pictures from.

1) Picjumbo

If you subscribe to the site, you’ll receive images to your inbox once a week that you can download and use. There are a few categories to search for images that match your project needs, as well as a search bar at the top to find what you may need.

There is a Photoshop plugin for about $12 for ease of access to the sites library remotely.

2)  Pixabay

One of the nicest photo sites I’ve come across. The images are really rich and full and the download options give you what you need for different resolutions for web or print.

There is a search bar to find what you are looking for as well for ease of site use. I highly recommend signing up to get the full features of the site and what it has to offer.

3) Gratisography

The photos on this site are great to use as well as they serve a more creative niche. Taken by a photographer by the name of Ryan McGuire the images are free to use on projects with no strings attached (as the site says). Though the images are under a Creative Commons Zero license, it might be polite, but not necessary, to give the photographer some credit as it’s his work.

4) New Old Stock

A unique photography with beautiful landscapes in black and white. Ansel Adams style photos that are perfect for any project that needs a clean but elegant touch for photography.

5) Picography

When it comes to licensing here is what the site clearly states, use however you like. Photos are provided to the site by various photographers, not just one as the others.

Quality of the photos are excellent and usually are creative and abstract at times.

That’s all the sites we love, do have one? Feel free to share in the comments below, or on our Facebook page at: https://facebook.com/element502

6) Pikwizard

On this site you can find over 100,000 completely free images and over 20,000 of those are exclusive. They are also adding new images to their library daily.

They have a lot of pictures of people, which tend to be rare in free stock photo sites. If you search for “office” or “meeting” and you’ll see the quality of the pictures on the site. All of them are free to use without attribution.

I have been in marketing and technology for more than 20 years and have worked in many industries and worn many hats. From independent consultant, to cooking school, to establishing technology centers, it was a Spirit led adventure that landed me in the president & owner’s seat at Element 502.
