The WordPress admin bar is the bar at the top of your WordPress website. This only appears when you are logged in. It contains your administration option links. Such as add a new post, see pending comments, edit your profile etc. It can be extended by plugins to add additional functionality.
Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of the WordPress minute. I’m your host Jason Davis at Element 502. Here we’re going to talk about the admin bar at the top of your WordPress website. When you’re logged in it’s a black bar at the top of the page. From here you can edit the pager, create a new post, add media, or get to users. You can also access the customizer. In our previous video we did a tutorial on the customizer (go check that out) where you can access your dashboard themes, widgets, and menus. You can also access your profile directly as well as log out. So I want to edit this page, but I don’t want to go to the back into the admin menu to figure out where this page is. To edit from the front side I can go ahead and click “Edit Page”. Now I have access to this page and now I can make a page update. Also be aware that before you click update as I just did (see video) you can also preview your changes so that you can see them before you update. It’s still very handy to go back and forth between the front side and the back side of your website so you have
easier access to editing content. I hope this helps! See you on the next episode!
